The Fire Within with Lynnette Fritshaw

In Lynnette's words:

"I dedicated 18 years of my life to the fire service. The last 14 yrs were as the first and only female firefighter in my department. I took an early retirement in fall 2023 so I could tell my story. I couldn’t heal in the place that broke me. I had to put myself first and make the hard decision to leave a career that I loved so I could heal.

The trauma I experienced wasn’t from the things I saw and experienced on the job. My trauma was from men in authority positions with bullying, harassment, discrimination, misogyny. Started in my childhood and continued throughout my life.

I got honest with myself, worked hard and experienced post traumatic growth, overcame my psychological injuries, and am speaking my truth to empower others to have the courage to do the same.

I just finished writing my memoir and it launches November 9th. It’s a raw and honest look inside my life and the impacts of my experiences.

I don’t have a secret, I have a story.
